Proagroin

EARTH’s first exports of fresh Costa Rican pineapple are grown by the members of Proagroin, an association of small pineapple and citrus farmers in northern Costa Rica. Proagroin was founded in 1997 to enhance quality of life of small and medium farmers and their families in the northern region of the country.

EARTH was a founding partner of Proagroin and sits on the foundation’s board of directors. Proagroin assists small farmers with technical assistance, access to markets, financing, and quality management. The foundation manages logistics for the farmers, provides financial services, and maintains two high quality pineapple packing plants and a staff to manage exportation.

We will soon be adding short profiles of the small farmers that are providing EARTH University pineapple through Proagroin.
